María Gabriela Piñango Labrador is an attorney with over 15 years of professional experience, focusing on advising and representing companies and individuals in Venezuela. Her practice emphasizes civil, commercial, labor, and administrative litigation. Throughout her career, she has centered her expertise on dispute resolution, the preparation of legal consultations and opinions, as well as the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements and the discussion of petitions, both in conciliatory and adversarial settings. Additionally, she possesses extensive experience in drafting civil and labor appeals for cassation, constitutional review appeals, and constitutional “amparo” actions, among others.
She holds a law degree from the Andrés Bello Catholic University (UCAB) in Caracas, Venezuela, where she ranked second in her class in 2007. Subsequently, she pursued a specialization in Civil Procedural Law at the Central University of Venezuela (UCV). Her solid academic background, combined with extensive practical experience, has allowed her to develop a comprehensive vision of the law, particularly in areas of high litigation complexity and strategic consultancy.
She began her professional career at the firm Parisca Mendoza & Asociados, where she practiced between 2007 and 2013, managing litigation for major companies in the industrial sector in Bolívar State, Venezuela, and providing legal counsel to national and international clients. Subsequently, she was part of the firm Bravo & Asociados from 2013 to 2016, where she continued to develop her practice in civil, labor, and administrative litigation. Her work included the preparation of lawsuits, answers, evidentiary briefs, and appeals across various branches of law, including the maritime and aeronautical sectors.
Currently, she serves as a partner and director at Crosswise Attorneys at Law, based in Caracas and Miami. From this position, she leads the firm’s strategic direction and continues her practice in complex litigation, corporate legal counsel, and company structuring, as well as in collective bargaining and labor dispute resolution.
In the academic field, she has developed an outstanding career as a professor at the Andrés Bello Catholic University (UCAB). She began in 2012 as a teaching assistant for Evidentiary Law and Procedural Law IV (Cassation). Subsequently, she has served as a professor for various courses, including Commercial Law Practice, Foundations of Commercial Law, and Business Corporations, contributing to the education and training of new generations of lawyers.
